Families and friends please join us for our second annual Holiday Performance Friday December 11th.  Please check with your child if he or she is performing. My class will be performing “La Raspa” a short mexican dance.  It is going to be an awesome program – please don’t miss out!

Veteran’s Day Nov. 11

Tomorrow  is Veterans Day, and we take time to honor those who have served American or who are serving currently.  Unlike Memorial Day where we remember the dead, today is about honoring those still with us who have

served in some capacity or other.

Thank your service men and women today, and if you get a chance, spend time with one.  Not all of our heroic stories are mentioned in history books, but some waiting to be hear and can be found just across the street or even in the person standing next to you.

Fall into reading!

Fall is here and it came fast! Make sure to turn in your homework on Fridays so you can eat with me in our classroom. Don’t forget to read 20 minutes daily.

Llego el otoño y llego rapido.  No se les olvide entregar la tarea el lunes para comer con la maestra el viernes.  Tambien lean 20 minutos diarios.

I am excited for the upcoming new year! We are going to learn many things and have lots of fun!

So spring is here…

We have many upcoming events.  Parents and students please read bulletins and blogs.  We have about 50 days left of school – hard to believe. Students have worked very hard since the beginning of the year but there is more to do – CST tests are coming in May.  Keep studying and focusing on your work.

Vamos a tener muchos eventos en los siguientes meses.  Por favor lean los anuncios y blogs.  Tenemos como 50 dias para que se termine el semestre.  Hemos trabajado mucho pero todavia queda mas que hacer.  Los examenes CST seran en mayo.  Sigan estudianto y concentrandose en su trabajo. 

Spring is almost here!

Continue to read at home with your children please.  Homework is always delivered by Tuesday unless I am sick or have a meeting and cannot get to the homework but it will be ready soon after.  We have many activities planned for the next four months so keep reading our blog for information.  Also, Parent conferences will start Monday and end the following week. I will be calling parents to schedule a convenient day for you to come in.

Presidents’ weekend

Happy birthday Washington and Lincoln. Students, this month is a great opportunity to learn about President Washington and President Lincoln. The library has many books about both Presidents. They were both very instrumental in shaping our great  country.  George Washington was our first president and Abraham Lincoln was our 16th president. 

 

100 days in school!

Congratulations!!! We made it to 100 days in school. It has been a great year. We have learned a lot and will continue to learn interesting things the rest of the year. Monday February 10, 2009 we will celebrate 100 days in school. So get ready for the second half of the year to be great! To my blog visitors…I hope that you also have a great year.
